A fire is seen Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in Ferguson, Mo. A few thousand people crammed a suburban St. Louis street Sunday night at a vigil for unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown shot and killed by a police officer, while afterward several car windows were smashed and stores were looted as people carried away armloads of goods as witnessed by an an Associated Press reporter. Video posted online by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch showed a convenience store on fire. (AP Photo/St. Louis Post-Dispatch, David Carson)

With the grand jury decision expected tonight in the Ferguson officer-involved shooting, is your department prepared to face any public outcry? (violence, arson, looting)

My opinion is no one is prepared to deal with a situation like this. You can only prepare for the worst possible scenario which in my opinion is what we saw last night after the verdict was passed of not guilty.  But looking at the effects of last night how do you prepare for being shot at while trying to commit resources to fire attack... quite simply you cant, not without risking needlessly

Unless your department has Riot gear/ Ballistic gear, are armed and trained for riots, I don't believe any dept. is ready for what happened there.  I could be wrong...  Good luck and stay safe to all those in that area!
