FDNY Investigates Dispatching Error In Fatal Brooklyn Apartment Fire

NEW YORK - The Fire Department says it is reviewing a dispatching error that delayed getting water on a fatal fire in Brooklyn.

Spokesman James Long says it's not clear whether the delay on Saturday night was a factor in Mary Feagin's death.

One of the engines that had been sent to the Flatbush fire was already at another emergency. A police officer had accidentally shot himself in the leg.

Long says the delay lasted "over a minute," until dispatchers discovered the error and sent another engine.

Long says high winds and an open door contributed to the intensity and the advance of the fire.

Have to see how this one plays out.Not sure if the minute made a difference or not with the open door and high winds but I'm guessin somebody's gonna try and go head-hunting.
