(AP) 2 reported dead in early morning Mesa house fire
MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- A man and a young child are dead following a Mesa house fire.

Fire officials say eight others living in the home managed to get out after the fire broke out around 3 a.m. Monday.

Two police officers who tried to enter the house in a rescue attempt were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say two of the occupants were taken to a hospital, also for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The house is located in the area of Alma School Road and Southern Avenue.
