Does your Fire Department use CRM to reduce "human error factor" events that attribute to firefighter injuries and deaths? The International Association of Fire Chief's have endorsed the CRM model.

US Air Flight 1549 "The Miracle on the Hudson" that Captain Sullenburger successfully ditched his Airbus aircraft into the Hudson River used the CRM model.  What most people do not know is that he wasn't flying that aircraft when the catastrophic bird strikes occured, 1st Officer Jeff Skiles was.

Check out how CRM helped in their communication, situational awareness, reduction of stressors and barriers during their successful water landing and how we can learn to use the same in the fire service.

I went to a class on CRM. I find the core fundamentals much more valid than say, CISM. CRM breaks down the old-style way of doing business where the person in charge is god. Fortunately, even though CRM is not really "wide spread" in my department, most of the officers (or at least that those know their crews well enough) are quite happy to take input on various incidents. Really it's about getting rid of ego for the sake of the job.

Well spoken. CRM could and should be used more often in the fire service.
Not too familiar with the concept here and don't really have the time, nor opportunity, right now to listen to the broadcast. How about a breakdown of this?
