Does your volunteer fire department have a program to help it's members in setting and seeking goals and to be come the next core of officers?
I just put out a survey to all our members with many questions regarding the fire department, etc.
A few of the questions were on the members goals and how we can help them reach these goals.
Some survey questions:
Where do you see yourself in the association in five years?
Where do you see yourself within the association in ten years?
Where do you want to be in five, ten years?
What are your goals to make yourself a better firefighter?
What are you going to do to make this happen?
How can the association help you with where you want to be in five, ten years and to become
a better firefighter?
This is a first for the organization. This is another avenue of communication and a way for today's officers to help to establish the future by asking what we can do to help and what the member is willing to do to advance.
Working together we can all benefit from this survey.
This survey will help the officers to better know our members goals, where we need to go, and what direction we need to head in helping our members meet their goals.
Today's members are tomorrows leaders and what we do today to guide and train them will only better the organization.
I was wondering if any other FD's have taken this avenue in working towards helping it's members set goals and help its members accomplish these goals?
