ok so my aunt lives about 2 hours away from here and can't really figure out exactly wat a junior firefighter does even though ive explained it to her before. Well she bought me this belt that says "Lady Firefighter" on it. Its cute, the letters are in pink and it has a malteese on it. The only thing is i dont want to seem to be something im not.. So as a female junior firefighter do i count as a lady firefighter?

Your in, I say wear it proud:)
well, lets see,,,you are female, seem to have a good head on your shoulders...Yes I would consider you a lady
Junior firefighter or not...If you're learning the job and doing the work, that makes you a firefighter. What makes a lady is a matter of opinion (not saying that you aren't), but if you respect yourself and who you are I would count you as a lady. So I say be a lady firefighter and be proud of it, and if someone else bought you the gift they must also believe it true.
NO!
REAL firefighters hold their pants up with SUSPENDERS!
I would give it right back to her and tell her to get it right!:)
I know several female firefighters.
But I only know ONE lady.

You are a firefighter, you are a member of a family, a brotherhood, a group of unselfish people who are doing a job that has to be done and can't be done by just anyone who wants to. Junior Fire Fighters grow up to be Career Paid Professional and Career Professional Volunteers. Once you put the gear on the fire can't tell who you are or what you are. Forget her, there are just some people in this world who will never understand the drive. You can't fault her because she is ill informed most of the non fire service world is. Study hard become a team member of your department and be a part of something great. be a Fire Fighter.
Hey why not...?? As far as I am concerned you could did yourself in maple syrup and all yourself French Toast......LOL Good luck future Sister.....Stay safe, learn well and always keep the faith.......Paul
Iwould have to agree with the others and say YES!!!!!!!!
Hey you are what you believe you are!!!! Wear it proud!!!
Proudly wear the dog gone thing. It's not official gear just a nice conversation piece, like now, that could lead to some great conversations about safety and tactics. Good luck in your future endeavor. Post a pic of the belt, I might want to get my wife one. TCSS
I would have to say yes . Just wear it with pride and remember that it is not the fact that you are a junior FF, but someone who is interested in helping her community , Paid or Not. You become part of something that no one can take away from you. We need more of the younger generation to step up and start training now so that when others retire there will be someone that can take there place . Last I had heard the number of Firefighters keep going down every year and with people like you maybe someday that will change. stay safe
Jessica:
The others are trying to get you into hot water.
Any smoke-eating, black snot-blowing, hallway crawlin' jake will tell you that you that pants were meant to be held up with suspenders.
Belts are so you can hang all that sissy stuff off of them like keys, cellphones, pagers, more keys, more pagers, portable radio, handcuff case...
Did I say "handcuff case"?
I meant fanny pack.
You get the picture.
