I was wondering if there is any agency that offers free Deuce firetrucks, or grants for them. I have heard about this from someone and I was unable to find any info. Anybody have a Deuce? How did you get it? And did you have a grant for it?

I found info that the DCNR offers them to fire depts. However the dept has to go wherever the DCNR calls them.
Are you talking about military surplus "duece and a half" trucks?
Thats Correct
We get ours from the forestry service, we have to modify them ourselves or pay someone to do it. They do come with a few stipulations some of which are: they still belong to forestry service, they must be housed inside, they must be kept in good working condition and I'm sure there are a few more. When you are done with the truck it must be turned back to the forestry service. We have had 6 or so of them over the years and still have 3 of them in service. In our area they are a great way to acquire apparatus that is built extremely durable and with a little work on our part are a bargain compared to buying a new unit.
Yes, we have them and yes we use them for wildfire ops.
