DETROIT - Detroit arson investigators were called to a west side Detroit neighborhood Wednesday after three houses went up in flames.
The fires were reported shortly before 5 p.m.
The houses were within blocks of each other on Inverness Street, near Puritan Street.
According to neighbors, two of the houses were next door to each other and caught fire one after the other. Both houses were vacant, but the intense flames threatened to ignite a third house that was occupied.
As of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, fire crews said they had the fires under control and it appeared the occupied home would be saved.
There have been no reports of injuries.
