Hey Guys, this is Fire Rescue Coop. Today I am going to start my Fire Discussion to Kick of the Newyear with County Dealing with Local Volunteer Fire Departments, I do know the county offers the help that Volunteers need at some points but our county here needs to kinda step it up a little. Dont get me wrong they are doing the best they can on helping out and providing the equipment needed during an incident, Fire Rescue, or even Search and rescue, or disaster homeland security incidents.
But the excuses now days are that the counties funding is very low here in our area and the help we need sometiems that we are looking for dont always come to pass. So we do things, like other volunteer Fire Departments do. Such as Fundraisers for Dinners or even ceartain activities, but the county should be able to were they can step it up and help out just a little bit.
Cause now days when things come up that the county is needing a new rescue truck or tanker to go on a call because the other one has either had a blowed engine or even just breaking down, the grant is made but yet the county still forsees or not forsees the statement of the grant and sometimes they take it as an understatement saying well the funding here is too low and we cant do this or that, basically a stand in the dark Cry for help.
Not talking bad about the county or counties in the area of Volunteer Fire Departments, I just think the volunteers deserve a little more respect then what the fire departments and fighters are getting because as volunteers we are just like the professionals at the paid but only putting our life on the line for free and risking it as well in hazards such as Chemical Spills, Structure, or even just plain old disaster areas as well. Dont get me wrong I love the county they are working hard as it is in the Governmet realm and they do the best they can do.
But I think they can offer a little more help instead of taking the poor tax payers money and blowing it on a ballgame vacation etc. I think all the help needed should go to all volunteers and even maybe increase pay rate a little for ems and volunteer as well as paid personalle.
I have heard this for a long time and I figured I would touch just a little bit on this and see what you guys think about it disagree or agree on this.
