yea man thanks, my best friend is a firefighter and this weekend I am going to his firehouse and he's gonna show me some shit, and do some drills with me etc so it should be fun.
hey, being small has its advantage. I know my big ____ can't fit in a lot of spaces I wish it could, and we always have that go-to guy/girl for those situations. and we also know the limitations of each other, and don't pack the shorties like mules. its all about knowing the brothers/sisters you roll with
thats true man, ill see how tommrow goes. lol
Aight so today was cool, my buddy who's a firefighter brought along another one of his friends thats also a fellow firefighter, they basically simulated and interior search and rescue where you go in and drag your left foot against the wall and taught me how to tell if a door is hot etc. overall it was fun.
you'll find there's lots of things that don't have much to do with size, i.e. skills
Put on your 50+ lbs of gear and do a few evolutions( live burns if you can) with your prespective dept. Then when your laying in bed and it's just you and God there, ask yourself if this job/ task is something for you? If you think it is , go ahead and do it, If it's not then consider another career path. Hey I wouldnt want to fly the space shuttle just because everyone else thinks I can.
Well I used a 30 min pack, my friend set up an obstacle coarse, around the conference room, we did this for about 20 minutes, I did it like 3 times, and like the third time he switch up the coarse on me, after that he taught me how to enter a structure fire, basically peeling back my glove and circling my wrist around the door knob to see if its hot or not, then he taught me how to enter the building open the door slightly and peek in then get the hose out and squirt in whatever pattern you feel comfortable with, then comes the search and rescue, so overall it was pretty cool I can't complain.
