Connecticut Firefighters Trapped During House Fire Floor Collapse

NORWICH, Conn. - WFSB reports that a floor collapse during an overnight fire in Norwich briefly trapped one firefighter while two other firefighters became trapped during the initial rescue.

During the fire one firefighter fell through a hole up to his knees when the floor gave away. Two firefighters who tried to help him out became entangled in wires and debris. A rapid intervention team made their way inside and succesfully removed all trapped firefighters.

All three firefighters were transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

Two adults and two children were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
