ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Authorities say a firefighter fell through the floor and into the basement of a burning house in the Denver suburb of Englewood and suffered undisclosed injuries.

The incident occurred early Tuesday.

Firefighters say no one was home at the time of the fire and no other injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Residents of two nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution.

The fire was reported at 5:30 a.m. and was extinguished by 7 a.m. Authorities say temperatures hovering around zero hampered firefighting.
