LONGMONT, Colo. - A barn filled with hay bales is burning in Longmont and firefighters say the blaze could take days to burn out.

KDVR FOX 31 Raw Video

The fire was reported early Wednesday morning at Docheff Dairy.

Family members tell the Longmont Times-Call that the fire has burned about 7,000 small hay bales and 150 large hay bales.

Firefighters are not attacking the fire directly. They say putting water on hay fires can make them last longer because hay is densely packed and repels water.

The cause of the fire isn't known. No injuries have been reported.

Not to mention if the barn had a metal roof that collapsed on it will make it harder to put water on it as well.
