CHICAGO - Authorities say one Chicago firefighter suffered minor injuries fighting an extra-alarm blaze on the University of Chicago campus on the city's South Side.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Quention Curtis says the fire was reported about 6 p.m. Tuesday at a three-story brick mathematics laboratory on University Ave. south of 57th St., and appeared under control about a half hour later.

Curtis says the building was under construction and no one was in it at the time of the fire. He says the injured firefighter has been taken to the University of Chicago Hospitals.
