DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - An early morning fire caused the roof of the Daniel Island medical center to collapse Tuesday.

Charleston firefighters worked to put out flames at 899 Island Park Drive around 2:30 Tuesday morning, not far from the Family Circle Cup Tennis Center. The fire caused the roof of the Daniel Island medical center to collapse. After putting out the fire, firefighters worked to put out hot spots.

Firefighters first reported seeing flames shooting 30 to 40 feet high from the building. The fire has been put out, but firefighters are still on scene to make sure that hot spots don't re-ignite the structure.

Five different Charleston area fire departments worked from the outside in to put out the fire. No one was injured in the fire.

The building housed Parkwood Pediatric Group and Crescent Moon Orthodontist.

Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
