NEWARK, Del. - Officials say a house fire has caused $800,000 in damage to the structure in Newark.

Firefighters from several companies responded to the blaze, which broke out about 2:30 a.m. on Monday on Ohio State Drive.

A family of four escaped, and there were no injuries.

Officials say the blaze was ignited by charcoal embers left in a container on a rear deck. The fire was ruled accidental.
