CFSI Accepting Nominations for 3 Fire Serivce Leadership Awards

CONGRESSIONAL FIRE SERVICES INSTITUTE

Each year, the Congressional Fire Services Institute recognizes excellence in fire service leadership with the presentation of its annual awards at the National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner. With the generous support of corporations and organizations truly committed to firefighter and health and safety, CFSI is able to recognize leaders in public safety for their dedication and efforts to make the fire and emergency services a safer profession for those who serve in local communities across America. CFSI is seeking both individuals and organizations deserving of recognition for their special achievements. Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award    
 
Co-sponsored by CFSI and Motorola Solutions, the Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award recognizes public safety leaders who have been proactive at the local, state or federal government level to improve fire/emergency services and life safety issues.The criteria stress the importance of forming positive working relationships with government leaders and promoting fire/emergency service and life safety issues to improve the safety of the fire and emergency services and the public they serve. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 4th.    
 
Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award    
 
Co-sponsored by CFSI and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, with corporate support from State Farm Insurance and VFIS, the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award is presented to organizations for leadership in promoting and supporting firefighter health and safety initiatives at the local, state and national levels. A former Chairman of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, Senator Sarbanes introduced legislation that established the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The deadline for submitting applications is March 4th.     
 
 
Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards Program    
 
Co-sponsored by CFSI and the MedicAlert Foundation, the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Award recognizes best practices in Emergency Medical Services by fire department to encourage other fire departments to consider similar practices to improve their fire service-based EMS systems.  The deadline for submitting applications is March 15th.
