TORONTO -- Residents of a west-end Toronto home have a cat to thank for saving their lives during an overnight fire.
The blaze, which broke out at about 4 a.m. Wednesday in an unoccupied house, quickly spread to a neighbouring home that had five residents.
Sean Conway, who lives in the neighbouring home, says a cat named Chauncey jumped on one of the other residents and woke him up _ just in time to see flames in the window.
All residents managed to escape, including the four-legged hero, who Conway says escaped through a window.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say it appears suspicious. (CTV, Citytv)
