Canine Footwear - How the Chinese Firefighters Protect Their Pooches

Rescue dogs working with Chinese firefighters have been given leather shoes. [The} Chaoyang fire brigade in Beijing city have fitted them with shoes to protect their paws.

“It’s mainly to protect their feet, not for fashion,” a fire brigade spokesman told the Beijing Times. The soles are made of leather, while the uppers are made from tough, fire-proof fabric.

The department says the dogs’ working environments are usually very dangerous, and their feet are easily cut open or burnt.

Note: You might want to check out the fact that this dog is also wearing the now mandatory high visibility safety vest. It's all about safety!

Not to mention the fact that in this case, a LODD results in a tasty snack!!! No need to waste taxpayers dollars like those rapscallions in Boston!!

Now I feel so SORRY that I may have posted erroneous information... and here I thought that the world of USAR and pooches were going to be a better place... Maybe I should post another discussion saying how SORRY I am?

If you look closely you can see on a boot that it says, "Made In USA"
