WOODLAND, Calif.--Fire officials say a Woodland woman is hospitalized after a fire broke out in her bed as she slept.

Woodland Battalion Chief Rick Sander says the woman, believed to be in her 60s or 70s, is being treated for second- and third-degree burns over the lower part of her body after the fire Saturday.

Sander told the Sacramento Bee that after the fire broke out in the bedroom of woman's second-floor apartment a little after 4 p.m., the sprinkler system inside the unit put out the flames.

The woman's husband and a passerby pulled her from the apartment before firefighters arrived.

Sander says the cause of the blaze has not been determined but appears to be accidental.

The name of the woman, or her condition, has not been released.

OK, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that smoking materials were involved?
