SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Three firefighters burned during a house explosion over the holiday weekend are recovering at the University of California Davis Medical Center.
Authorities are investigating the cause of Monday's explosion at a vacant home in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento.
Four firefighters were injured after responding to a report of a possible gas leak, but one was discharged from the medical center on Monday.
Dr. Tina Palmieri on Tuesday said the three remaining firefighters are in good condition after suffering burns to the hands and face. She expects them to remain in the hospital a few more days.
Lloyd Ogan, acting chief of the Sacramento Fire Department, said investigators found evidence inside the home to indicate the blast was a deliberate act.
