California Fire/EMS Explorer Academy in Napa, CA
I am a Female instructor for the California Cadet Academy located in
Napa County, CA. We are trying to get the word out to all Fire Explorer
Posts in California. We offer a one-week specialized Academy for kids
age 13-18 who are interested in Firefighting, Law Enforcement, and
Emergency Medical Services.
Our Program is designed to motivate an interest in education and develop
vocational skills as a guide to the future. The Academy is a
paramilitary environment with a high level of discipline. Cadets wear
uniforms, follow a strict Code of Conduct and become part of a team.
We are located in the Napa Valley and use the facilities of a local
college campus. The camps are one week in duration held during the
months of June, July and August.
The Academy instructors are currently employed and/or retired
firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians. The
instructors and staff are dedicated to mentoring the cadets and guiding
them towards a successful future.
We hold a fundraiser every year to help pay the way for kids from your
community to attend the camp. Many students who attend are inner-city
youth and come from low-income households who are unable to pay the full
tuition.

The Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth...
As an instructor who has taught for the CDF in Napa, CA, I can tell you that everything about the program and Napa's approach to training is exemplary. To not take advantage of this kind of opportunity is just silly. For those serious about seeking a full-time career in the fire service, this is one of the steps you should take, if you can... For those that do not take advantage of this opportunity all I can say is that if you still have any questions about getting on the fire departments somewhere, just ask one of the kids that took advantage of this offer by Corey Morgan, California Cadet Academy Instructor.
The good news about having this training in Napa, CA is that I know for a fact that the area is famous for dealing with a lot of wine, or in the case of folks who shine this on, whiners... Just sayin' lol
