Samudio says the accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. at First Avenue and Washington Street. Both were southbound on First Avenue, and the bus driver was turning right onto Washington on a red light. The bus was struck in the side by the train.
Traffic on the southbound light rail line was halted, but Samudio says normal operations resumed at about 8 a.m.
