ALTUS, Okla. - Two firefighters have been released from the hospital after being burned while battling a wind-whipped grass fire in southwestern Oklahoma.

Friendship Fire Chief Marty Clinton says his brother, Maddy Clinton, and Justin Hodge were injured Friday as crews chased flames from a blaze near Blair into a Jackson County creek. The chief says the firefighters got trapped when 50 mph winds shifted and blew the flames back onto them.

Chief Clinton says Hodge suffered burns to his arms, back and stomach and was taken to Integris Baptist Medical Center's burn unit in Oklahoma City. He was released on Monday.

Clinton says his brother was released from the hospital and expected to return to work Tuesday.

Clinton says firefighters got the blaze under control by 3 a.m. Sunday.
