BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Overnight, three Buffalo firefighters suffered minor injuries while responding to a house fire in south Buffalo.

The fire started just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, in a vacant home on Selkirk Street.

Firefighters say the winds made it tough for firefighters trying to put out the blaze.

"These are tough fires little house, tough to get at, you couldn't even see it was so smoky," said Buffalo Fire Department Division Chief Don McFeeley.

One firefighters suffered a minor shoulder injury and was taken off duty, two others were treated and released.

Investigators say the cause of the fire is suspicious.

Hopefully none of the injuries are too severe and our brothers will return to service quickly.
