BUFFALO, N.Y. - Crews were called to School Street around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire chief said, the fire started in a vacant garage. The fire spread to a neighboring vacant home and one occupied home on Plymouth Avenue.

Bob Ralph has lived in the Plymouth Street home, for the past 30 years.

Ralph said, "I woke up, the cat had jumped over me, and I saw out the window, I saw orange flames. So I got up, called 9-11 and went outside and unlocked the shed and started getting some of my stuff out of there. In the meantime, a couple of kids had come by, they were knocking on the door, and they came back and gave me a hand getting some of the stuff out of there."

Fire crews are estimating damage to his home is $60,000 on the exterior, $30,000 for the contents.

"It's definitely a problem here. Someone has targeted this little area with two fires now," said Division Chief Jack Hess.

Hess said a few months ago crews were sent to another home on School Street.

Tuesday morning's fire is being called suspicious.
