Bristol fire gear
I'm looking for opinions be them positive or negative of Bristol Fire gear. If you are using this PPE, I would sincerely ask for an honest opinion of what you think of this gear.

We use it and so far so good. Was amazed it kept me warm at a fire in jan temp was -13 . I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and my job shirt unerneath. I like it so far. The side pockets are a little small.Pm me and I'll send you my fd email address

We have the stuff on one of my POC FDs. In my opinion it is the lightest, most comfortable gear I have ever worn. I never felt inadequately protected while weqaring it. We bought the "Boston Spec" gear.
We had bought Bristol for almost 10 years, with no complaints. We had an admin change and they bought 6 sets of Quaker, it was cheaper that the Bristol. The very next year we switched back to Bristol for the next purchase of turn out gear.
I HIGHLY recommend Bristol, spec it how you want it, but I recommend looking at the Boston Spec.

Ask the Bristol sales person to show you the Boston Spec.
The shell is Nomex Delta T. I will have to look at a coat to tell you what the liner and moisture barrier are made of. There are 2 attachment loops on the front of the coat and a loop and strap for attaching a flashlight. The coat has 2 pockets, and the pants have 2 bellows pockets. The bottom 4 inches or so of the pants on the inside have a rubberized coating to help prevent water from wicking up the liner. Both the coat and pants have 2 color yellow and silver reflective trim. Both coat and pants have a zipper/velcro closure.

Sounds similar to ours.
Coat has handwarmer pockets plus bellows pockets,radio pocket with a mic tab above that on the left side.The right side has a mic tab, 2 little metal d-rings, a strap for a flashlite plus velro closure to hold the flashlight in place.
Pants have 2 bellows pockets(kinda small) and the rubber liner at the bottom. Our stripes are orange and silver. The moisture barrier I believe is crosstech. I'm not sure on the outer shell or the liner.
So in a nutshell they sound the same.

We have used the Bristol gear.The first sets where great lightweight and durable,but the last few we have had problems with the liners wearing out on the pants, within two years.We contacted our rep with no help,we have since switched to Jansville.
