Boston Firefighters Rescue Man Pinned Between Bus and Building

BOSTON — Authorities say an MBTA bus has struck a building in the city's Roxbury neighborhood, and one person was trapped for a time under the bus after the incident.

The accident occurred Monday afternoon at Hampden and Dudley Streets. Boston police spokesman Eddy Crispin says police received 911 calls at about the time of the accident reporting a group of people fighting or possibly assaulting the bus driver, but he said those reports had not yet been confirmed.

WHDH-TV reported that the man who became stuck under the bus after the accident was freed and appeared to be conscious. The extent of his injuries wasn't known.

A spokesman for Boston Emergency Medical Services says four adults and one child were taken to hospitals after the incident. She said all appeared to have minor injuries.

Calls to MBTA officials were not immediately returned.
