JACKSON, Ky. - A house fire in eastern Kentucky has claimed a life.

Officials were on the scene of the fire in Jackson on Friday morning.

WYMT-TV in Hazard reports when firefighters extinguished the overnight blaze, they found one person dead inside the home. The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.

The state fire marshal's office has been called into the investigation.
