EAST POINT, Ga. - Firefighters summoned to a blaze at a recycling plant in East Point discovered the body of a worker.


East Point Fire Chief William Ware says firefighters found the body at Newell Recycling near a front-end loader that was fully engulfed in flames.

Ware says the fire started Thursday night in an area with heavy machinery and crushed cars. Workers were evacuated by police during the fire.

The body was taken to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and positive identification.
