The Towering Inferno!
Towering Inferno and Ladder 49!
Backdraft and ladder 49
Already been discussed several times

Has yet to be made.
I'll go with "Still to be made.".
Ladder 49
UUHH well I vote either Backdraft or Fireproof or has yet to be made.
I have not seen Backdraft, or Inferno yet. So I am going to go with Ladder 49, since I have seen it.
I would have to say Ladder 49, although there is alot that does not seem to be real, it is the dedication of the actors to learn from the real heros. We had a grand opening for the movie in Kingston Ontario Canada, which was set up by theatre and Kingston Fire Rescue, it was well attended by many firefighters in the area. I also sent a request to John Travolta for a signed copy of him in uniform saluting, he didn't dissapoint, sent an autographed copy to the fire hall, so I can't say anything bad about him.
Sir not to be desprespecful but if you notice befor he is traped he has his pack on he is out of air with what is assumed to be broken leg(s) he takes the pack off how ever there are several mistakes 1. Jack going back by himself 2. Mike checks the door of the first fire with the palm of his hand. 3 The fall it's self would have proven fatel to jack

In Ladder 49 Morrison (Joaquin Phoenix) does not have a SCBA on in the end because he ran out of air (as he states over the radio to John Travolta's character) and removed it after his fall. Morrison is wearing one upon entry of the building, he initially removes the mask to allow the victim he is rescuing to take a couple breaths of air.

As for the attending the academy part, all the cast and crew of Ladder 49 attended abbreviated course at the Baltimore City Fire Academy and were trained by Lt. Mark Yant. In addition Phoenix spent a month with the Firefighters of Engine 8 and Truck 10
