WE ARE SEEKING ALL YOU POLICE - FIRE - EMS Skiers and Snowboarders!!!
The Granite Gorge Ski Area and FETC Services have teamed up to host the First Annual Police - Fire - EMS - Battle of the Badges Charity Ski and Snowboard Race to be held on Sunday March 6th, 2011. The Granite Gorge Ski Area is located on Route 9 in Keene / Roxbury, New Hampshire. Race Registration opens at 10 AM and the Charity Races will start at 1 PM.
There is NO ENTRY FEE for the charity race. All participants of the Battle of the Badges Charity Race must purchase a Granite Gorge Lift Pass for access to the race course. A portion of every lift pass associated with the Battle of the Badges Charity Ski Race will be donated directly to Miracles in Motion. Miracles in Motion located in Keene, New Hampshire, is dedicated to providing the “Miracle” of therapeutic horseback riding to improve the physical, emotional, cognitive and social lives of individuals with special needs. Police Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians are very connected to their local communities, and by supporting this charity event we can make the lives of the less fortunate happier and healthier one ride at a time. FETC Services of Keene, New Hampshire; www.fetcservices.com is sponsoring the 2011 Battle of the Badges event. There will be a $100 cash prize for each Divisional Champion. There will be many more product prizes and swag for other participants as well. Participants must present their badge at the time of registration. You must be an "Active" Police Officer, Firefighter or EMT in good standing with your organization as well. All racers will get two individual passes on the Granite Gorge Slalom Race Course. The fastest individual time will post on the leaderboard for both the Skiing and Snowboarding Division. Overall fastest individual time in each division will be crowned the 2011 Battle of the Badges Champion.
This is a seriously FUN family event. So get out those old skis and snowboards, dust them off and take it to the mountain for a day of season ending - stress relief! Round up the entire family and come down for some family fun. The Granite Gorge has many wonderful opportunities for the entire family. With alpine skiing, snowboarding, terrain and tubing parks, miles of cross country and shoeing trails there is something for everyone.
