Barn Fire Season Approaches - Do you get complacent?

As the haying season quickly approaches us and many hard working individuals pack the barn with freshly cut bales for the upcoming months... we may see our next structure fire.

Think back to when you went to your last barn fire... was the fireground attitude any different than a good working "interior" dwelling fire? Were you or anyone you know a little complacent with wearing their full issued PPE when Command decided on defensive operations?

Don't get caught... barns are just as dangerous as a commercial garage! Pay close attention to your surroundings,(Situational Awareness) listen for tanks venting and off gassing. A good point for safety officer's out there, would be to try an obtain what the owner has stored in his or her barn.

It just may save your crews life.
