Not to re-dredge the topic. In surfing the various dept web sites of members here at the nation, it seems like the only pre-req for membership in a VFD is a pulse. If your VFD has other requirements, what are they and do you post these on your web site?

I'll give you this example. I volunteer for a international, youth centered organization. I have to have a yearly background check. If I have a domestic violence charge for hitting my wife, that's ok. But if I hit my kid, I'm out.

Well I know that upon turning in your application, you submit to fingerprinting and a background check. I'm not entirely sure what they're checking for though.
Also you have a full medical exam including EKG and chest X-ray.

We require a bit more than a pulse. A working digestive system helps. Probably a few more physical attributes as well.
