WASHINGTON (WUSA) - DC Fire has put out the bulk of an ambulance fire. The ambulance was being held in reserve in the 4500 block of South Capitol Street on Monday.

DC Fire Spokesperson Pete Piringer said the ambulance is a vehicle held in reserve along with several other pieces of fire equipment at the rear of the PR Harris School. These reserve vehicles are used for training at the DC Fire Academy.

The fire was contained to one ambulance and there were no injuries.

Fire investigators found some signs of vandalism to other units and believe the fire was arson.
