MESA, Ariz. - An apartment fire Sunday morning in Mesa has left 18 people homeless. No injuries are reported and fire officials say all of the tenants managed to safely escape the flames.

Mesa fire investigators think the blaze in the 1000 block of South Lebaron Street began outside two apartment units near two hot water heaters.

The exact cause of the fire has not been determined. Investigators said the fire does not appear suspicious.

The flames were contained to the apartment attics. Smoke and water damage left the Mesa complex unlivable.
