knowing that I'm on the opposite side on the states (left coast) I too would love the chance to visit Captiva Island. any chance you have been reading any Doc Ford books? Randy White is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to also visit Sanibel Island and eat at the Doc Ford's restaurant. If you go, take pix for me.

I haven't heard of the Doc Ford books. Enlighten me, Capt. and if the place is close by I'll be glad to take some pics for you. I plan on visiting the fd on Captiva maybe I can score us both a job there. My friend is a deputy on the island and he sees it's a beautiful slow paced place to be....
