ATTALLA, Ala. - An autopsy is planned for a 59-year-old woman who died in a fire at her home in Attalla.

Attalla Assistant Fire Chief Chris Correll says Kathy Kilgore died in the fire at her home Wednesday night.

Correll says firefighters could see flames shooting from the house when they arrived, and part of the front porch already was burned.

Correll says firefighters went upstairs to search for Kilgore, then discovered her bedroom was downstairs. He says two firefighters were injured when the floor in the bedroom collapsed, but they were not seriously hurt.

Correll says Kilgore's body was found in a bathroom next to the bedroom. He says the body was sent to Huntsville for an autopsy.
