So, how do you like an organizing organization like ACORN getting FIRE Act money?
In this case, it is in the Fire Prevention and Safety category, but the New Orleans branch managed to apply for and was successful in their application to the tune of $997,402.00.
Do you really think that an organization that has been charged with voter registration fraud and other, recent criminal acts should receive hard-to-get FIRE Act money?
Did I mention that ACORN owns FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS worth of property in New York City?
Not bad for a “not-for-profit” organization.
Wake up little sleepy heads.

It would appear that a national backlash is taking place.
Here is the most recent development: http://www.firefighternation.com/forum/topics/house-senate-call-for
I am most anxious to hear the explanations behind giving ACORN FIRE Act money.
Somebody completely missed the mark, for sure.
This morning, I heard that ACORN commissioned a review of their practices and were completely exonerated of any wrong-doing.
Did I mention that ACORN PAID for the study?
Might explain why they got high marks.
Also heard that the attorney general in Louisiana continues to seize ACORN computers, disks, hard drives, records, etc. from its New Orleans headquarters where the main offices that acts as fronts to ACORN are also housed. Boy, what I wouldn't give for a huge press FOIA requests to see what's being found.
I have a feeling that they will be losing their tax exempt status.
Oooh.
Art
They need to be put down!!!!HARD!!!!!!!!!
Well, now that ACORN is closing up shop, what has happened to this money and who will do the close out paperwork if the money was spent by ACORN?
AND, what new name will ACORN emerge with so that they can fleece the taxpayers some more?
This story isn't over by a long shot.
You can bet the ranch that they'll be back(still be around), just under a different name and a new guise.
