A song a few of my buddies rewrote for a firefighter who was killed in a four-wheeler wreck. Let me know what you think.

We went out for beers and a couple laughs never knowing that every story mason told, might be his last.

So we drank and we talked all night long, never thinking hed be gone and we teared up when he held up his glass.

He said boys until we meet again have a beer for me don't waste no tears on me, sit in right field give em hell and cheer on the home team. Ride my sierra 90 miles and hour down rec park road. This aint nothing blasting on the radio.

And find someone good enough for my family, who would love them like i always have. until we meet again.

We said hey man that aint gonna happen, we know you you'll pull threw without a scratch.

He pulled me aside on the porch that night said johnna and me were gonna tie the knot and seths my best man just wanted you to know that. Just untill.... We meet again. Have a beer for me dont waste no tears on me sit in right field give em hell for the home team. Ride my sierra 90 miles an hour down rec park road. With this aint nothing blasting on the radio.

Since the good lord called me up, i'd like to let my family know i just made it home.

Miller Light ain't my brand but i have one when were golfing, in his honor. We ain't missed the bulldogs yet had that sierra at 110 on rec park road when the speakers blowed.

I am saddened by the news of your friend's death. The lyrics tell a poignant story. You guys have a memorable song indeed to help keep Mason's memory alive.
thanks thats means a lot
Jacob, I am so sorry for your loss. I think your friend would be proud to have friends that loved him and his family so much. He sounds like he was a lucky man in life and in death. I am sure he is smiling down from heaven, saying "those are my guys, gotta love 'em!"
Jacob sorry for your loss buddy. There's nothing worse than you getting a phone call saying you've lost a friend or family unless of course the pager goes off and you respond to it but like the song says you never know that the raising of the glass and giving a cheers or that joke or that hug just might be the last one.I've lost a couple really good friends and I cherish those last moments and memories and live my life everyday knowing that it could be my last day or my friends or families last day.Never again will I/do I leave my house or end a phone call without an I Love You to my wife or kids because you just never know and I would hate to have to go through life with a "I wish I would have" regret.
