I'm about to become a mother to twins, and these are my first children. Are there any suggestions on how to juggle being a parent and being in the fire service? Also how do i show my significant other that its the one thing i do for me, he wants me to hang up my helmet to be a mother and be there for him. sorry if my question makes no sense, I seem to be having a hard time putting things into words today!
Thank you for any help!

Thanks for the wise lesson :-))
thats awsome wilbert. i am trying to get my firehall to have an "on call nanny". our fire commissiner agrees this is something that should be looked into... though obviously i still would not attend middle of the night calls. dragging a 2 year old out of bed at 3 in the am not a good plan... for anyone. lol. but i will pass on to my chief staff someone somewhere is already doing this. thx
single motherhood and firefighting work FINE! (though i only have one)sounds to me like you should thank your lucky stars. somewhere out there are "real" men who will love you for you. support you for you. and not try to crush your drive. i have run into those who think all you do is awsome...until it affects them.. lol .. and i say good ridance!! my dept has been awsome too! good luck!
Great to hear your fire chief is an openminded person. I don't know whether I can be of any help. Please let me know. A town nearby has duty nannies. I can always have a talk with them about their experiences. Hope I will be able to translate their policy for you. Good luck
why yes but i love her so much!
