Clearwater, South Carolina --
Lakeside Baptist Church held a morning service honoring all CSRA Emergency Service Workers Sunday morning.
This service was just an appreciation for all the hard working agencies in the CSRA. Over 200 people showed up representing various police, fire, emergency medical services, and other groups from Georgia and South Carolina. The pastor gave the emergency personnel an opportunity to introduce themselves to the congregation. Workers say they were honored to get the special treatment on Sunday.
Chris Williams-Aiken Public Safety "Kind of give us a pat on the back let us know we're still thinking about you. No matter what. We're out there doing our jobs day to day. EMS, law enforcement or firefighting. So it's a great honor to be here."
Joy Robins-Member, Lakeside Baptist Church "I think it's a great thing that Lakeside honors our local heroes. I feel like often they get overlooked. So I think it's a wonderful thing and I know they really appreciate it."
This is the third time the church has put on a 9-1-1 service. A meal was also provided.
