Today marks the 9th anniversary of the Station Nightclub fire in Warwick, Rhode Island.
The fire began at 11:07 PM EST, on Thursday, February 20, 2003 and killed 100 people.

In Massachusetts, the Station fire caused a ripple effect; the State enacted a sprinkler law for venues that seat over 100 people and also established annual inspections for all bars, clubs and restaurants in order to renew their liquor licensing.

Just revisited the video of the event last night. That was one hellish scene for sure. But,as mentioned in the post, something was taken from the event and improved upon in hopes of lessening the chance of it happening again. And on the flip side of that, it's too bad that it takes something like that to happen in order for people to see problems that some may not see from the beginning.
