Need some help, Our department is talking about going to a 48/96 schedule. It seems at this time all our employees are in favor of it, but chiefs are skeptical. The biggest issues seem to be shift coverage (overtime) and deffinately safety. We have done some research on this and talked to other departments that have gone that way. There has been a definate favorable result when we have asked others that have that schedule, but they do say it really takes some getting used to. So my question goes out to anyone on that schedule, how is it working for you? and what are some of the problems you have with it? Thank you for your input.
