We are merely talking about ensuring that NON firefighters do not participate here for inappropriate purposes, not forum moderation or any such thing.

Its not censorship or discrimination. Its a social network for firefighters. If someone comes here trying to sell their wares, is just here looking for to date a firefighter, etc. it's not intended for them. So yes, maybe it needs to be as much professional as social as well.

We may just require real names (ala Facebook), among other things, to participate to clean up whatever isn't and make it clearer that the trolling for women (or men), selling products, soliciting for donations or other participation that has nothing to do with the fire & EMS service will be result in termination. It's not a lot to ask. This isn't MySpace...
