since saturday june 14th my department along with the NCFS has responded to two large woods fires. the first was a 25 acre woods fire which was called in on saturday june 14th which started due to lightning strikes from a june 9th thunderstorm. it smoldered for 6 days before being called in. we have been there since the 14th. The NCFS was there as well untill today when we as well as the NCFS were dispatched to another woods fire in our district the fire which we just cleared from at 1am has burnt close to 30 acres and well be back there in the morning. we recevied mutal aid from 6 different departments or agenceys. so Little River has been busy lately. so far in less than a week we have burnt roughly 60 acres but Praise be to God no one has lost their home. if you would pray for my department and those responding.
