Our department has had these slepping bags that where home made to wrap around the matress and the the patient to cocoon them in. The problem is these things get soiled and with repeated washing they are starting to breakdown. What are other folks using. I would like to here from some upper plains folks and you mountain guys. Thanks in advance.
The ambulance companies here use blankets provided by the emergency rooms in the area. If they get used, they are taken inside the hospital with the patient and new ones are taken from the supply closet to replace. They belond to the ER. This ensures they are 100% clean each use (hospitals laundry is cleaned better than yours and mine is) and also ensures a large quantity.
Speak to the board at the ER you primarily use and see if this plan is workable for your situation.
