With an upcoming election, pay close attention, we need some political assistance today and in the future. We need a presidential candidate that will support emergency service providers. We also need a good set of people in congress that won't cut our funding every chance they get to help them spend money on other "non existant" things. (Pork Barrel Spending)
I know its early, but who is your candidate of choice so far and why?
Thats a hard choice I have more then one but sadly I don't think they can win so it would come down to me a choice of lesser evils. Now Rudy made some mistakes in the year after 9/11 that was almost unforgivible but I can not blame him alone..Yes before I get a bunch of links to read about his mistreatment of fire fighters in New York and illnesses they suffer again let me say this My brother was there for 4 weeks without a break and died in 2004 of an unknown illness that we all feel came from that day. He worked a shift on April 10 and was gone on May 11. but before you believe all that hype on those sites the Fire fighters union was no help the Federal gov no help and local CDC people a joke. My family has been FDNY since it was all Volunteer.
Okay next is Ms, Clinton and to be honest the more I look at her and in her eyes The last I believe a word she speaks and I also feel she would sell anyone or anything for power. So here I sit which evil would be worse for all of us. I dont know.
I am voting for Ronald Reagan he was a good President! But seriously" if i spelled it write" i do not know who to vote for because they all say they are going to do this and that for us but when they get in office they seldom do what they promised us they would do.
I know what you mean about Clintons eyes. Scarey huh? She is what I like to call a Chameleon. She can change into whatever YOU want her to be. Or whatever SHE THINKS you want her to be. All you have to do is listen to her talk to various audiences. One day she's a New Yorker. The next she's a Southerner.SCAREY!
I haven't made up my mind yet & probably wont until this time next summer.
They all lie. Even the honest ones. The best candidates will not soon be elected. While my life in the fire service certainly weighs in on my decision, I have several other factors in making a decision as well. My personal beliefs, my religious beliefs, my family beliefs, and my full time job just to name a few. So it's entirely possible that my ideal candidate might not give a damn about the fire service, but I guess you have to weight it all and make a personal decision.
BTW, from what I can see so far, Ron Paul kicks ass:)
And yet another important issue that gets buried under a lot of other forum posts. With the time approaching, who will you vote for and whats their stance on Americas first responders?
I have no idea who I am voting for until all issues are covered, but I do like that McCain seems to be a politician for the people, and his voting record usually goes with what he feels, not along party lines.
My previous post was deleted because I was responding to a post that has since been deleted.
But all of this hysteria about the voting machines is bordering on the ridiculous.
And if we get to a point in this country where the safegards for an honest election of political candidates cannot be guaranteed, then we might as well consider an autocratic monarchy right now.
