Just ordered the P90X Workout today and hope to start it as soon as I get it in the mail. Has anyone else done this workout or are doing it now? Please feel free to share your results or input about the program by joining the group P90X For Firefighters
It is an excellent workout. Requires a lot of committment and proper dieting. The best part is the program comes with an awesome cookbook that is easy to cook and taste good! The Ab Ripper will kick your butt!
Ive had it for awhile.. And one of the hardest parts is keeping on track.. But I am a firm believer it is a great program.. If you get a set of the bands, you can throw them in your gear bag and take them anywhere. No need for a lot of weights. And if I hit the gym, I do a P90X style workout there.. I also found online, a P90X Excel sheet that will track you through the 90 days.. And Sam and Tommy are right.. You will feel it with the Ab Ripper.
P90X is a very tough / great results workout. I mix it up with regular weights, cardio, and some elements of crossfit.
And follow the diet!!!!!! and don.t skip the Ab ripper X
I have gotten a bit lazy in this summer heat though.... gotta get back to it....
if you don't have the $$$$ for the P90x search CrossFit. workouts listed online for free, it you don't have all the equipment, just do something you have equipment for. More of a high intensity " functional "exercise program, will help your zero to 60 fitness for firefighting... I have heard a lot of the military folks do it.
yak now i think everyone has graduated from p90x and moved up to the insanity workout. That workout is so good they keep a copy of it at the HQ station and they workout together as shifts.
Our Training Capt. set a daily schedule at the 1 house. Everyday except Sunday on duty, off duty members come to the training room to do it. He now is rotating Insanity every other day as well. You will never feel worse for a couple days, then you will never have felt better.
I want to thank everyone for their replies about the P90X workout, I just got it this weekend and am planning on starting my first workout tonight! I will try to be sure to keep everyone posted on my progress!
Well I did my first P90x workout last night....all I've got to say is wow, what an intense workout. And the AB Ripper X, even more intense. Is it normal not to be able to do all of the exercises in the AB Ripper X? I will say though I love it so far, looking foward to the months to come!
