Hello Michael, My son was a LAFD explorer back about eight years ago. He was assigned to a station in West LA. Her loved it and was able to take part in many training events to include swift water rescue and received certificates. They helped him nab a job with CalFire where he is a FF, PM and Engineer at 24 years old.
